  Ok, so I pass by this place every day on my commute to work- I've been for a long time meaning to try, but it's always on the wrong side of the street and I'm lazy, plus 436 traffic!
    Tonight I decided to stop in and grab some takeout and man I'm glad I did!
     I had been craving roast pork, penne, for awhile now- here a combo consists of a protein and two sides. I chose plantain maduros and yellow rice with pigeon peas and pinto beans all for under 6 dollars before tip! A healthy serving that I couldn't even finish entirely! The pork? Tender and flavorful, perfect. The beans had also such good flavor!
     Now the inside of this place is definitely nothing impressive, I wasn't here for the ambience. The food is why and I can easily say I'll brave that u turn in traffic for this place again soon! Delicious!

  Authentic quick PR food! This is my new go to Lechonera style restaurant, and its not just because it's close to me ;)
  
  Lechonera El Barrio has a wide selection of food, but to its high demand and popularity, expect food to run out quick! Lunch time is the ideal time to visit, as towards the end of the day, they tend to run out of some of the selections, and right at opening, not all the food items are ready. I've tried the pepper steak and the chicken, along with various sides, and I have been satisfied every time. Drinks are not included in this all day combo price, but are available for about an additional dollar.
  
  The food, especially meats, tend to be more on the oily side, but at $4.95 for a plate with rice, meat, and a side, you can't complain! Plus, it is Obama approved :)

  Love doesn't even begin to describe how I feel...
  I stopped by one day during work and in all honesty it felt like I was back home in Miami eating food that my grandmother had cooked. I am incredibly picky when it comes to arroz con frijoles but you guys did a beautiful job. It was so delicious,  filling and an incredible price. I worked with special needs kids and adults at the time, I brought one of my clients who is very impossible to please when it comes to food, especially if it isn't traditional American food and he ate the entire pan con bistec.

  This place right here!?!?!?!  I frequent the lunch special which consists of 1meat rice and side $5 and change. I love the pernil and the chicken cubes with peppers and onions. Beans on my rice!
  Next time I go I will try to post a pic with my food.. I eat it too fast!

  Delicious! Portions are large and you can't beat the price for their lunch special. My new go-to close to home!
